Learning Target: Determine if a value is an outlier

This is the post for Friday, September 3, 2010.

Warm Up: p. 138 #20 – you get 15 minutes to finish this problem. I want a volunteer from the class to explain your answer. After the volunteer has attempted the answer, Mr. V will write the correct answer from my sub plans on the board. If your answer doesn’t match mine, write mine down in your notes.

Goals:
• Sit in your assigned seat while Mr. V takes roll, stand for the Pledge, and listen to Morjan about lunch.

• Check L2I3 Calendar work in group against my answer key which Mr. V will pass out. You get 15-20 minutes to check your work in your group. Please seek explanations from other groups if your answers do not match mine. Mr. V will recollect these keys before the MIQ.

• L2I3 MIQ - Put up the dividers for the MIQ. You may use your notes and calculator, but no book. When all books are put away and all dividers are in place Mr. V will hand out the MIQ.

• If you talk at all before all the MIQs are collected, Mr. V will write down your name and you get a zero. There will be no discussion about this.

• When you finish, turn their MIQ into the green bin. They know where it is. I will grade them on Monday.

• If you finish the MIQ early, you have two choices. Choice 1: Your group could fill out your calendars for Investigation 4 and begin work. I will check their answers on Monday. Choice 2: Work on the following review problems as a group: p. 129 #2, p. 132 #7, p. 133 #8, p. 131 #5, and p. 135 #11 (not d).
